In this briefing we provide an overview of the restructuring and insolvency regime set out in the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates. However, as at the time of writing, there has not been a major corporate insolvency in the United Arab Emirates and, accordingly, many aspects of the regime remain largely untested. (November 2008)

The new DIFC Arbitration Law

The DIFC Arbitration Law 2008 came into effect on 1 September and opens up the Dubai International Financial Centre as a possible seat (or juridical place) of arbitration to all parties looking to seat their arbitrations in the Middle East. New Dubai escrow law

New Dubai real estate laws – summary: Real Property Law (RPLs)

Once it comes into effect, the RPL (applicable to real property within the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) only) will apply to all real property granted or leased by the DIFC Authority.
