Our lawyers are located in our Hong Kong, Beijing and Shanghai offices, which are fully integrated and provide support to each other when needed. This means that we can give the best legal advice and service to our clients, wherever and whenever required.

The firm's Hong Kong office was established in 1985. We have over 85 lawyers, over half of whom are locally qualified, practising both English and Hong Kong law and advising on projects in China. We also have lawyers qualified to advise on US law.

Our Beijing and Shanghai offices were established in 1993. In each office we have over 20 lawyers advising both Chinese clients investing abroad and clients with investments in China. Our China partners are all acknowledged leaders in Chinese law as well as in their own fields of specialisation, bringing a sound knowledge and leadership base to the group.

We have extensive experience in advising on the legal, tax and regulatory aspects of foreign investment projects, privatisations and securities issues, technology licensing, turnkey projects, international financing and natural resource projects in China.

As well as Hong Kong and China, our practice covers the wider Asia region and, in conjunction with our Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City offices, Vietnam.

Our lawyers have trained and qualified in many common law jurisdictions. A large number of them have PRC legal training and have passed the PRC Bar exam. Several have previously worked as officials with Chinese government agencies.

Most of our team is fluent in spoken Mandarin and other Chinese dialects and written Chinese, with other language skills including English, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Spanish and Thai.
